Cobain formed Nirvana with bass player Krist Novoselic in 1988 playing with a number of drummers before settling on Chad Channing. Nirvana released their first album Bleach” in 1989 which had limited success and upon beginning to write their follow-up album Cobain and Novoselic began to have musical differences with Channing. He left the band and was replaced by Dave Grohl. The resulting record was “”Nevermind”" which made the band an international success. Two years later Nirvana released what would be their last studio album “”In Utero”".
